Sandun de Silva

Sandun de Silva has been interested in cooking since he was 8 years old and his grandmother made him make a cake, for eating all the 'batter' when she wasn’t looking. Years after when he went for his higher studies in Australia he continued his passion for food even though not in a professional capacity. After studying Multimedia and Web Design at Swinburn University he came back to Sri Lanka to work and joined the advertising industry. A few years after attaining Marketing/Branding experience he worked for the National Child Protection Authority.
Sandun left Sri Lanka to follow his true passion, cooking and entered one of the oldest cookery schools in the UK Tante Marie. There he studied Cordon Bleu and graduated. During his stay in London he also studied Wine Tasting under a Master of Wine. He worked in London at various hotels and restaurants gaining experience until he returned to Sri Lanka in 2005. Afterwards joined Sugar the popular lounge bar as a consultant which he currently continues to be. He is also a partner of “The Elephant & The Mouse” company with the Acclaimed Director Boodee Keerthisena.
